The analysis of people-productivity (<output> per employee-hour) by season, week, day, hour etc. (depending on what level of detail your data will support) for each discrete area of the operation will provide an estimate of the potential for improvement and an indication of the areas of the business where improvement should be possible.

Typically, from a sample of your data for an appropriate period (sometimes up to 5 years) and discussions with your management we will:

Identify the levels of people-productivity which you have achieved during this period - down to the lowest level of detail which your data will support - by hour of day, day-of-week, season, shift, etc..

Review absence levels, wastage rates, retention rates;

Evaluate the use of overtime, agency and temporary labour;

Identify working practices which:

are actual or potential impediments to productive operation (so called "Spanish Practices");

offer perverse incentives to employees.

Benchmark where possible/appropriate.

The likely outputs will be:

Suggested improvements in deployment practice - reflecting best practice elsewhere in the organisation or outside - including rostering  improvements, flexible working and/or annualised hours;

Identification of any prospective skills gaps;

Evaluation of the benefits from adopting these suggestions;

Identification of opportunities to enable delivery of change;

Identifying opportunities to achieve incremental and/or transformational improvements.
